Sports Federations of Seychelles Meet With Minister Idith Alexander Individually.
On the 15th December 2016, the Minister for Sports, Ms. Idith Alexander, accompanied by her Special Advisor and Chief Executive Officer of the NSC met with representatives of all the Sports Federations in Seychelles in a forum held in the Seychelles Football Federation auditorium, Roche Caiman.
In the forum, members of the Federation expressed the wish to have a tête a tête meeting with the Minister so that specific issues may be discussed.
In response to their expression the Minister for Youth, Sports and Culture started to meet with the Federations from the 15th of February 2017. The Minister stated that as she is new in the post she needed to understand each Sports Federations characteristics, dynamics and aspirations. She wanted to know their calendar of activities, their programmes and activities which they would like the presence of the Minister.
The meetings were also attended by the Minister Ms Idith Alexander, Principal Secretary Youth and Sports and Special Advisor for Sports.
The delegations of the Federation comprised of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary or Treasurer.
During their discussions the Federation highlighted their strengths and successes in their sports, their weaknesses and what measures they are taking to address their shortcoming. They also expressed their satisfaction with the opportunities available to them and exploring ways to grow their sports.
The Minister expressed her satisfaction and understanding in the challenges many sports are facing and highlighted the need to continue working together in the interests and benefits of Seychelles and its youth at heart.
