Lucky winner Garry Underwood receives keys to new car
It was still under the effects of a pleasant surprise but brimming with happiness that Garry Underwood received the keys to a brand new white Grand i10, a prize he had clinched without even realising it.
Mr Underwood, a client liaison officer with Eden Island Development Company, said he was abroad recently and he received the pleasant surprise when he came back.
“I really cannot explain the feeling. There are no words to describe how I feel when I realise that I am the true owner of this new car. I am so happy and I know it is pure luck that has befallen me,” he said after receiving the keys from the hands of Samad Suleman, the managing director of SPAR Eden Island, during a short ceremony at PMC Auto Providence yesterday morning.
Being used to driving vehicles of the company he works for Mr Underwood, who had no transport of his own, was visibly overjoyed.
Mr Underwood had qualified for the SPAR Eden Island sales promotion lottery and received several tickets from clients/guests he accompanied on shopping trips as well as tickets from his own purchases.
Mr Suleman said SPAR has been running the sales campaign since January whereby shoppers who bought goods worth R500 or more at one go automatically qualified for a lottery ticket to enter the draw which was held at the end of July.
Congratulating Mr Underwood on his win Mr Suleman also commended the good collaboration with PMC Auto which has sponsored a discount on the car.
“We are really satisfied with the promotion campaign which saw around 5,000 tickets taken away,” Mr Suleman said.
