The committee responsible for the organization of the annual Praslin Culinary & Arts Fiesta has taken a decision to postpone event which was to be held on the 2-4th September 2016. The decision was taken after the announcement of the National Assembly Elections which will take place from the 8,9 and 10 of September 2016.“We feel that our activity will loose its momentum being right in the middle of the campaign period” said a representative of the Organising Committee.
The Committee had already been meeting on Praslin and a sub-committee responsible for the Culinary side of the event had also been working with hoteliers and restaurateurs on Praslin. “It has now been confirmed by Benjamine Rose, the PS for Culture that new date will be communicated soon as discussions are already underway with the Tourism Board to try to merge it and this year’s Tourism Day Celebrations together especially as the Tourism Board wanted to put the island of Praslin in the forefront of Tourism Day 2016″ said Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board.
