Kids gear up for talent show
Seventeen young little stars are gearing up for the eagerly awaited annual talent show ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, now in its 14th year.
This year the show will have the largest number of partakers since its inception in 2000 and rehearsals are well underway for the 17 little stars who will shine on August 20 at the International Conference Centre Seychelles (ICCS). The same show will be repeated the following day, August 21.
Children were selected after having successfully passed an audition. Well over 60 children were auditioned and this year 17 have been selected, compared to the usual 15.
“In order to qualify, the little stars must be aged between 5 and 9 years old, outspoken, have a good voice, and also be enthusiastic and willing to perform in public. As usual in Seychelles we are lucky. There are many talented children who came for audition but unfortunately we need only 17 artists for the show,” said Bennet Accouche, the creator and artistic director of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.
He added that all the candidates have already chosen their songs which are in all our three national languages – Creole, English and French.
“All candidates have already chosen their favourite songs and rehearsals are well underway at Espace Building,” said Mr Accouche.
This year’s little stars are Chloe Hoareau, Hanille Lucas, Maya Moncherry, Dean Songoire, Leah Celestine, Mariah Meme, Naisha Labiche, Jamilla Cedras, Farella Vel, Ella Chung-Faye, Eva Assary, Gabriella Havelock, Trisha Port-Louis, Ella Kandasamy, Kerry Tamboo, Shakeal Savy and T-Neishah Labaleine.
Every year we have the opportunity to appreciate some raw talents and this year will be no exception as ‘Sir Bennet’ has assured us that “the show will be mind blowing”.
Every year, the ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ show attracts more girls than boys, and this year only two boys will be performing compared to 15 girls.
Mr Accouche has thanked the parents and all those who are supporting the kids or helping in one way or another, especially the management of Espace and Jj Spirit for letting them use their facility for auditions and rehearsals.
The following are the 17 little stars who will be performing on August 20 and 21.
