Miss Seychelles…another world Christine Barbier 2016 has presented her beauty with a purpose project to the Designated Minister Vincent Meriton who also heads the Ministry of Community Development, Social Affairs and Sports.
The beauty queen met Minister Meriton recently at his office and was accompanied by the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Naiken, the deputy chief executive Nathalie Didon and other staff of the organisation.
Minister Meriton congratulated Miss Barbier for winning the Miss Seychelles…another world for 2016 title and affirmed his ministry’s support towards the project which he said is a good initiative.
Her beauty with a purpose project entitled Children’s Home ̶ Comfort, Care, Continuity is about building a halfway home for young people who have to leave the children’s homes across the country when they reach the age of 18 to find their own way in life.
Miss Barbier gave details of her project, including its aim and objectives as well as the benefits of such a project for the society.
The leader of government business in the National Assembly Charles De Commarmond who was also present at the meeting, gave his views on the project, adding that he supports the initiative.
Mr De Commarmond said it will be of great benefit to many young adults who cannot return to their families when they reach the age of 18 adding that some do not even have a home to go back to.
