With an already established tradition of trying to do things a little bit differently, The H Resort decided that this Easter it would dispense with the traditional Easter Sunday brunch and instead host a kids’ big egg hunt.
Committed to being fully involved in the community, the resort invited children from three orphanages – Foyer de Nazareth, Foyer de la Solitude and Foyer de la Providence/Ste Elizabeth – for the big egg hunt and to meet the Easter bunny. Thirty-five children spent a fun-filled couple of hours hunting for eggs hidden around the property.
Alongside the kids from the three orphanages, were the children of The H Resort employees as well as the in-house guests’ children.
Dominique Richard-Hebert, general manager of The H Resort, commented: “This is a great way for us to once again be part of the community and give something back. It is wonderful, dare I say ‘eggcellent’, to see the children from the orphanages, along with our employees’ kids and the children of our in-house guests all mingling, smiling and having such a fun time”.
He added: “This event is again an example of us trying to ensure that we fully integrate and engage at all levels in the community. We are absolutely delighted by today’s event”.
After the egg hunt, each child received an Easter egg from the Easter bunny, then the children from the orphanages were treated to a special lunch in Vasco’s, the resort’s main restaurant.
Unprompted, 14-year-old Angele Anacoura, an S3 student at the Mont Fleuri school, stood up during lunch and said a few words. “On behalf of all of us children, I would like to thank The H Resort for this fun Easter. May God bless you. We all had a great time and loved being here and we wish you all a Happy Easter.”
