Employees of Indian Ocean Tuna (IOT) factory who excelled during the last quarter of 2015 received their awards during a short ceremony held at the company’s premises this week.
For the period of October to December 2015 the supervisor of the quarter award went to Philippe Hoareau while the employee of the quarter award was won by Elizabeth Songoire.
Mr Hoareau started working for the company in July 2013 and he is a senior supervisor in the stores CMC and inventory department.
“It is a privilege to receive this award especially with the short period of time I have been working with the company compared to those who have been here longer than me. It is also an incentive to keep me going and I will work harder in the hope that I can be awarded another,” he said.
His manager, Arup Das, said Mr Hoareau is a hard dedicated worker and is very proactive, which is very important for the business.
Mrs Songoire has been working with IOT since 1988 and this is the first time she receives such an award.
She is currently a senior packaging material inspector in the production department and she feels happy that after serving for 28 years she finally got recognised.
“I come to work every day and I work very hard. I have been awarded probably for the dedication I have for my job. I’ve learned a lot at IOT as when I started I was very young and I’m satisfied with my job until now,” she said.
Her manager, Roy Collins, said her work is outstanding and she has the attitude of a go-getter.
He encouraged her to keep it up and show others how it’s done.
IOT general manager Joram Madnack presented the awardees with their certificates and gifts.
He congratulated them and told them to keep up the good work and to be good role models for the other employees.
This award ceremony was expected to be held in January but was postponed.
The next quarterly award ceremony – January to March 2016 – will be held next month.
