Stephanie Medor is the winner of the Seychelles Tourism Academy’s (STA) mocktail competition, with her creation baptised ‘Cool Fizz’.
“I really did not expect to be the winner; we all gave our best to present a wonderful mocktail to the jury. I did not have a chance to practice my creation; I used local fruit that I was able to gain from home. My Cool Fizz will keep you relaxed,” she said very proudly.
Stephanie was among nine students from the Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (ADHM) year three of the STA who competed in the mocktail (non-alcoholic cocktail) competition.
The competition took place last week at the STA, in the presence of the STA principal Flavien Joubert and the brand ambassador from Dynamics Nicolas Cassy, staff of STA and students.
Dynamics is the exclusive spirit distributor in Seychelles. It has been created by a devoted team to form an influent actor of the Seychelles economy. The mission of Dynamics is to provide the consumers with high quality spirits at unbeatable prices.
The competition was a chance for the students to show their creative side, both in terms of creation, the naming of their drink which had to be original, the taste and the appearance. The students had to make use of ‘Marie Brizard’syrup to make their mocktails.
In second place was Virginie Decommarmond with her mocktail named ‘Orangelo’, while Deanna Ah-Kon grabbed the third prize with her mocktail called ‘Bizou Cheri’.
The other students who took part were Elvyra Barbe with ‘1703’; Robin Julienne with ‘Passion D’amour’; Lidwine Larue with ‘Local Passion’; Karen Cesar with ‘Orange Twist’; Audrey Pouponeau with ‘Lemongrass delight’; and Shyalla Auguste with ‘Happy Ending’.
Mr Joubert stated that all students created some wonderful art and that in the future they can put the recipe in a book to advertise it, and share it with other students.
All the winners received a gift bag from Dynamics and a certificate.
