secondayrThirty secondary students are taking part in a two-day workshop organised by the Everlasting Love Ministry, a non-governmental organisation with the goal of reaching out to the youths of Seychelles.

The workshop is taking place at the Youth Centre, English River, and was opened yesterday morning.

The aim of such a workshop is to educate the secondary students from the English River, Beau Vallon, Mont Fleuri and Pointe Larue schools on better ways to tackle decision-making, and to be able to make better decisions in life. It has been three years that the Everlasting Love Ministry (ELM) has been organising such workshop to educate the youths.

ELM chairperson Jude Fred said they organise such workshops every school holiday in April to better educate the secondary students.

“We have been organising such programmes for the past three years for secondary students and this year, we have decided to change the way we do it. After this workshop, the students will have to implement a project at their respective school. The idea is to prepare ELM to launch a theme called ‘My life is precious’,” he said.

He added that during the two-day workshop, the students will be able to gain skills on how to making hard decisions in life.

“This workshop will enable them to discover themselves. They will also be counselled and we are also going to discuss about spirituality and occult practices which is becoming a problem in schools,” he added.

Since 2012, many activities including outreach programmes and other projects have been organised to bring about the ministry’s vision, which is to gather the youths without discrimination while pulling them out of a negative lifestyle and bringing love and hope to all.
